Joseph Sobran, Dead at 63
I’m deeply saddened to learn of the death of one of my favorite columnists, Joe Sobran. He’d been ill for years and retired his regular column, but while this was no surprise, his passing from us still brings me pain.
As a residual Catholic, I enjoyed his infusion of Catholic sensibilities into his work despite my being at the time a self-professed atheist. When I read his political confession, I understood why I liked him so much.
Requiescat in pace, Mr. Sobran.
